What's a beignet (pronounced ben-YAY)?

A beignet is a cross between an American doughnut and a French pastry, served hot and fresh. They're square and loaded with powdered sugar...enjoyed by the people of New Orleans for over 140 years.

What's a muffuletta?

A muffuletta is a sandwich in an Italian round with the center removed and stuffed with Italian meats and cheeses and topped with an olive salad.

What's a po' boy?

A staple in New Orleans (shortened from poor boy) - traditionally potatoes with roast beef gravy on French Bread. Chicory Cafe also offers other po' boy sandwiches, including ham, turkey, roast beef/gravy, shrimp, catfish, veggie, BLT, and breakfast.

What's gelato?

True Italian ice cream. It has no added air whipped in, so it weighs twice as much as most ice creams. Because of the density, it is amazingly creamy. It's made with true, raw ingredients...nothing artificial

Traditional Cajun French rhyme about coffee:

Black as the Devil;
Strong as Death;
Sweet as Love;
And hot as Hell.
Our coffees are now 100% FAIR TRADE, which means smaller farmers are getting a fair price for their coffees to enable to them to send their children to school, build health clinics for their communities, and have some of the basic needs many of us take for granted.  The small fair trade farmers are also required to meet certain environmental standards, so not only is the purchase of fair trade coffees socially responsible, it also benefits our Earth.
